Monclova, Coahuila

   
Monclova is a city located in the center of Coahuila, state located to the north of Mexico. Their area (Monclova, Frontera, Castaņos) it counts with near 300,000 inhabitants and has population's of 35 hab/kmē density. It is to 600 msnm.

City highlighted by the biggest production in steel of all Mexico, of there the name of the Capital of the Steel.

Been founded for the first time in 1577, like "Minas de la Trinidad", in their current location it was founded in 1689 as "Santiago of Monclova", old capital of the county Novohispana of the New Extremadura, as well as of the old state of Coahuila-Texas; formed by the state of Coahuila in Mexico and the state of Texas, at the moment part of United States.

In 1942, is founded the Iron and steel industry Altos Hornos de Mexico (AHMSA) that originated the vertiginous industrial development of Monclova.

In the 2010 the City of Monclova turns 433 years of its first foundation, for what is one of the oldest Cities in the northeast region of Mexico.
